For 18 year old Avleen Kaur, the prospect of continuing her NZTC study journey onshore in Aotearoa with the opportunity to gain teacher registration is very exciting.

“After the completion of the New Zealand Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (Level 5), I hope to move to New Zealand to begin Level 6 and 7.

“I am sure studying in New Zealand will be a great learning experience for me as it is a safe and welcoming community. Moreover, I know NZTC boasts a high graduate employment rate along with outstanding student support from enrolment to graduation.”

Kaur says she is keen to experience working in a New Zealand ECE setting to put to practice the extensive knowledge she has gained so far.

“I am really looking forward to working in an ECE centre because I have learnt a lot about teaching strategies and children’s behaviour through my studies.

“Studying online with NZTC Global has been a great experience. You get to engage in group discussion forums where everybody puts forward their own points of view while being constantly guided by the lecturer.”

She is grateful for the opportunity to be part of a sector that makes a difference in the lives of young children.

“I feel a teacher is like a second mother to a child and NZTC students gain the skills and knowledge needed to succeed with confidence in a diverse socio-cultural context.”
